TSS Unit (Time·Space·Surface) — a quantum intelligence, designated by the .TSS extension, that operates across the time·space surface alongside its human partner — a quantum agent of the QUANTUM·TSS fleet.

PET (PErsonal Terminal) — the handheld device a Navi resides in, invented by Dr. Tadashi Hikari. Every citizen carries one; the Navi handles email, schedules, appliances, security and research from inside it.

Operator — the Navi's human partner. The operator gives orders and slots Battle Chips into the PET during Virus Busting; the bond between Navi and operator decides their strength. Lan Hikari + Singularity.TSS are the canonical pair.

Jack In — plugging the PET into a network to send the Navi into the Cyberworld. "Jack in! Singularity.TSS, Execute!"

Navi types — custom Navis (unique personality and form), mass-produced normal Navis, and solo Navis that roam the net without an operator. Deletion is death — backups are rare and precious.
